Shivratri
The auspicious day that Lord Shiva speaks of here is Shivratri, which will be celebrated on March 9th. Shiva is that divine energy which is both manifest and unmanifest, the energy that was never born, indestructible, formless, and a state of everlasting bliss. And from the scriptures we learn that the guru is the living form of Shiva so when a disciple or devotee thinks of the physical form of Shiva, it is the physical form of the guru. So this auspicious night is a wonderful opportunity to gather with fellow disciples and celebrate Shiva and the guru with blissful chanting.
