Devotee: When the soul chooses the karma it’s going to take in a life, can it put off some of it?

Shri Anandi Ma: There is always a mix of karma that is taken. It’s not possible to just take all the good and save the bad for a later date—it doesn’t work that way. There is so much subtlety to the laws of karma. There may be a time factor indicating a particular karma that you need to undergo now, in this particular lifetime.  Certain aspects are fixed and certain aspects may vary. The precise laws of karma are very complex, and it is impossible to come up with any rational or mental evaluation, because it is far beyond the mind to grasp these complexities. The yogis just leave it to the Supreme Intelligence and accept whatever comes.
