About Making, Receiving and Commenting on DYC Prayer Requests
This page contains prayer requests that have been requested by DYC disciples. When prayer requests are made, they are sent out by email to those who subscribe to the prayer request email list. See below for details:
To Place A Prayer Request :
- Please email prayerrequest@dyc.org
- Include your full name and the full name of person for whom you are requesting the prayer.
- You may include the illness, condition, or circumstance causing the difficulty.:
Please do not include addresses, phone numbers or other overly personal information.
The request will go out via an e-bulletin and will also be posted in Shakti Online to enable fellow disciples to respond with personal best wishes to the person or family involved. To protect peoples’ privacy, in this version the most personal info, such as medical conditions, will be edited out (see #3 below).

- Click on the subscribe button in the right hand column;
- You will be led through a subscription process again (apologies for any inconvenience!);
- Please sign up for all of the subscriber categories you would like to belong to, including prayer requests.

- Type “Yes” in the box next to the question: “Are you just adding yourself to an additional subscriber list (like Prayer Requests)?”
- DO NOT check off Update my contact info UNLESS your address or contact info has actually changed since the last time you subscribed. Thank you!

Prayer request for successful medical test for Lydia “Sati” Towery
Please pray for complete health and a definitive diagnosis as an outcome for a biopsy procedure that long time Shri Anandi Ma devotee, Lydia “Sati” Leovic Towery, is undergoing on Tuesday, March 5th on lung nodules that she has, which have increased some in recent months.

First and foremost, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I’m wishing you all the best.
Waiting for tests and results are distressing, as we know, especially when things are so uncertain. This year, I got the results from my biopsy on our birthdate: abnormal cells are benign, no cancer, retest next year. That was great news to hear on my birthday. I hope you get good news, too.
May you have the strength and resolve to keep up your practices and pranayama during this purification process. See you at Mahasamadhi!

Prayer Request for Teresa Chong
Please pray for my wife, Teresa Chong. She was
diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a week ago. Doctor can’t operate because
it had spread to her liver. Now our only hope is the Lord. Only He can
cure her. Please together with our prayer I believe the Lord will hear and
heal her. She is only 38 years old. Please pray for her recovery. Thank you.

Prayer Request for Milly Graham
Sita Ram to my Brothers and Sisters,
Yesterday morning, my mom, Milly Graham, went through surgery to remove a tumor on her kidney. By God’s Grace, the surgery went very well and most of her kidney was saved. However, because my mom has cancer of the bone marrow, her immune system is quite compromised, and the recovery from the surgery is a challenge for her physical body. Also, doctor’s are still determining whether or not the tumor was malignant cancer.
My mom received shaktipat from Shri Anandi Ma several years ago, and loves Ma very much. Last fall, my mom made the trip to Antioch to participate in the Laxmi Puja for Abundance, and she has a photo of Ma with her at the hospital. I recently reminded my mom how to say the Ram Mantra and have been encouraging her to practice it mentally.
Any prayers that can be made for my mom would be greatly appreciated. I pray not only for her smooth recovery from surgery and successful future treatment, but also that, above all, Guruji will guide her to true peace. Sita Ram, and Love to you all.

Nov. 7, 1931 – Jan. 13, 2013
Joseph died in the hospital ICU. Born in Romania. He worked as a Electro/Mechanical Engineer for many years until he suffered an industrial accident, which forced him to change fields. He then opened his own appliance repair shop, and successfully ran and operated it jointly with his loving wife Judith for over 28 years, until illness forced him to retire. He was a very kind and loving spirit who many times even went as far as to teach his clients how to repair their own items, thereby saving them the cost of labor. His kind heart glowed brightly as he would regularly drop labor charges to elderly customers with financial difficulties. He had a reputation which read “If Joe cannot fix it, it cannot be fixed.” His creative ingenuity was widely known, so much so that his reputation spread all of the way to Alaska. He was also survived by his loving son Yona.

My best friend and long time spiritual seeker has come to a point in his life where he has virtually nothing, no home only a couple of trucks full of his stuff.

Prayers have begun and will continue 24/7 for at least 30 days. No one can harm the blessed soul of Daniel. I have witnessed a miracle of release and relief before with someone else also in the tough state of Texas. As part of this healing, a brief web search will reveal many advocacy groups and online petition sites re: this type of and related issues. May ease, relief, healing , freedom, increased faith in your own capacity and God’s grace, and all that is for the highest good, come from this situation for you and all whom you both might be assisting in the future.

I, Christine Arunika Devi, am asking please for prayers for my brother David Jirovec. He is slowly leaving this earth plane and his earth body. He has the mind of a 3 year old..and the biggest, most delightful smile. Please will you pray that it is swift, that he doesn’t suffer and leaves in great peace and sweetness. Blessings and great peace and comfort always for David, Christine and family on their journey, plus the logistics of the healthcare system in this situation; the best possible outcome.

I meditate on David’s transition to be painless. And do accept that our bodies are only borrowed to help others know who they are. We all give up our bodies and our true selves return to the Source. I have an uncle in the same space as David right now. Hospice is a wonderful support for the use of the hospital bed, air supply when needed and tending to the body. The use of these items are for the comfort of the transition process.
The path will lead to a final breath at which time our family will tell family members it is ok to cross over. Sometimes just saying the words has allowed our family members to cross over.
Part of your aceepting is learning to let go. My first experience was a bit overewhelming but I learned a lot about compassion as we all must cross this path. I love you and will keep you in my thoughts God Bless

Rani Hall passed the afternoon of Wednesday, October 24, 2012. She loved and practiced Ayurveda in her life, was a Registered Nurse and a Massage Therapist. She was a long time disciple who was happiest when traveling in India and being in the grace of spiritual energy. Rani learned much and grew throughout the period leading to her transition. Please pray for the welfare of her soul.

As appropriate with Divine, please include the following crisis situations on the DYC Prayer Energy List; all are processing disabling, chronic, severe and life-threatening environmental-related neuroendocrine immune diseases, and so far have not been able to access effective integrative medical help because of insurance lack and the poverty caused by long-term out-of pocket medical expenses:
Ted Woynicz, Virginia Gayle Williamson, Shari Anker, Pat D’Annunzio, Tim Gosney, Holliday Adams, Sheila Stevens; and the mother of Verneena Bohlin.
Parents of Ted Woynicz; Ronni Raymond; Kim Bright (Male); Nick the Mailman. If possible, please mention as a group the many suicides and related deaths caused by Late Stage Lyme-Related With Co-infection Diseases.
These souls all want to be of service, have good hearts and would surely return with gifts for our Earth if they received the appropriate healing. Prayer can do it. Thanks to all whose hearts are touched and give to these unfortunates.

My big brother Winkie (Winthrop) Houghton, a lobsterman here on the island, was just two weeks ago diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma brain tumor.
He underwent surgery and came through that hurdle very well.
Radiation and chemo are the next hurdles.

In Memory of Joseph Ramdas Lively
Joseph Lively, 62, died peacefully in his home in Morristown,VT Wednesday evening, Jan.25th. after a long and quietly courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by loving friends and the pure light of grace.
He grew up in Easthampton, MA a quiet boy who from early on immersed himself in books. As a child who experienced a spiritual healing from epilepsy, he grew up to become a healer himself, as both a massage therapist at Topnotch Spa in Stowe, and a Reiki master, and Reconnective Healer. He transformed lives with not only his touch, but with his gentle spirit and open heart.
He spent early adulthood living in the woods as the quintessential hippie working at a horse ranch, and then in Northern California where he learned to become a chef. He continued throughout his life to read voraciously, and to express his creativity and love of the written word crafting truly inspired prose and poetry.
He was a deep well of spiritual wisdom and a dedicated student of Kundalini Maha Yoga under the guidance of his teachers Shri Dhyanyogi and Shri Anandi Ma and made yearly pilgrimages to be in the presence of Mata Amritanandamayi, known simply as Amma.
His travels to Bali and India were inspirational to him and he entered university late in life to receive his Bachelor of Arts degree in Transpersonal Psychology from Burlington College in 2006, a year after receiving his cancer diagnosis. His plans then changed and he was finally able to have some time to work on his writing.
The last comprehended words he was able to speak were “I want to help people”.
Joseph is survived by Karin, his loving partner of 19 years, his mother Germaine, brothers John, Jamie and Jude, and many loving friends. And we cannot forget to mention his loyal little four legged companion Uma, who looked after him and alerted us when Joseph was in need.
Those of us who loved him will forever miss his quiet gentle presence, his compassion, and the sweet and very rare being he was.

Please put prayers in for my granddaughter Mia Gallea. She has a persistent, large cyst on her neck/shoulder. Please pray for a complete, swift healing for Mia.
We pray that there is no need for surgery, but it is the direction her doctors are leaning at this time, barring a spontaneous healing. (Our deepest wish, of course!) However, if she does require surgery, there is a chance of paralysis of the left side of her body, so we’re hopeful that will be a successful, easy process.

I have ones that are 25 years old and they work just fine, if kept in an air tight container and away from high heat and humidity. I find one tablet/pill works as well as 3-4 as on label. It helps the body heal itself. Homeopathics are also great for psychological conditions such as fear/panic, phobias, anger, anguish, etc. See a professional for those.
There will be literature at the health food/natural [green] store and some stores have good books that will reference it. If you can afford it (USA= $200+/- sliding scale), I’d suggest seeing a classical homeopathic doctor (“Naturopath”) who would spend about 2 hours with you and find the exact remedies you need. They use books & a computer to select from 5,000+ homeopathic remedies. Homeopathy is 200 years old and an energy medicine that really works. For example, In India they often use it to heal drug & alcohol addicts, let alone all sorts of other problems. I am passing through some critical situation of my life and I am very much depress and afraid. I started with new job in Oerlikon Textile India Pvt.Ltd. during last september at Por(Vadodara) having good package. This company is a EPC company having construction and execution division here in Por near Vadodara. According to my job profile I might have to remain far from my home(Which is in Vadodara)wherever the plant have to be constructed.I have two small children(Two Son) and Wife and I do not want to stay far from them for long duration.
I became very much afraid and depress due to this situation and asked the company management to give me some relaxation to this situation.But ultimately we did not came to any setttlement and now company management have given me two month time upto 31 December to find a new job.
I am very much afraid of my future and living under very pity and painful condition desperately looking for new job. I am praying you to help me.

I just wanted to let you know that there is a mantra for finding a job. If you ask Ma and Bapuji I’m sure they will give it to you. In my experience the mantra is very effective.
I would send you the mantra but I can’t find a written copy and I don’t trust my memory. Maybe there is someone out there who can give it to you. Ma or Bapuji would still have to empower it though.

Over the past few years I have gone through long periods of great financial difficulty. I was without work and without a home several times. I was much depressed, and I did not want to continue living in suffering. But I knew that Guruji would do what he could to help me, and he would not appreciate my giving in. He always would find a way to miraculously feed me. I know that your worry is great when you have wife and children to feed. But Guruji will find a way to help you, so you need not worry. It often takes longer than we want, but He will find a way. Recently, I put in a Prayer request for an important job interview. Two weeks went by, and still I did not get the job. But I did not lose faith, I knew that Guruji had something better in the future for me. Suddenly,I got a new job in a beautiful new fantastic location. My work conditions are beautiful and my coworkers are nice. Many of them have become my students in the martial arts, and will be taking yoga classes also from me. My old girlfriend will probably get a job here at the same company and come to live with me. So you see, Guruji took care of everything, as he always does. So, you must simply resolve to do your best, forget about fear and worry, and leave the rest to Guruji. We are very blessed! No greater Guru could we hope to have.

I have a prayer request for myself, concerning an upcoming job interview, which will likely take place this coming Monday or Tuesday.
I know that Guruji is with me always and I feel his presence always. However, on this special occasion, I thought that the additional energy of my spiritual family might indeed be helpful. If I succeed in gaining this position, years of floating above the poverty line, borrowing money for food, wondering how Guruji will magically find a way to feed me, and not having time for good regular sadhana will be ended.

I had a great interview, the interviewer said he was very impressed.
I was one of 7 people granted interviews out of 70 applicants.
However, it has been a week and I’m told the decision has not yet been made.
I have been without work and a home for some time now. I have found a place to stay but I have no money to pay. I fell and hit my head and was suffering from amnesia for a day or so, just like in the movies. That was quite scary! I think I’m all better now.
Any prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I have deeply experienced how extraordinary it is to be a member of our spiritual family. When my days with cancer were hardest, I felt your support and prayers uplifting me and sending healing energy to me. My doctors have marveled at how well I have come through very difficult procedures and how quickly I have bounced back after a complicated surgery. Each surgeon on my team has said some form of, “Yours is the best recovery from this type of surgery that I have seen.” I am very happy to be home now, and I am continuing to improve day-by-day. I am overjoyed at being able to attend group meditations and most recently Guru Purnima. So, thank you, one and all, for your prayers and concerns that have contributed to my well being and to my good news.
Sadly, I have just heard that my nephew Sid Wells has been diagnosed with colon cancer. He is in a very weakened condition and is not doing well. He has been asking his family and friends to pray for him. Ironically, his doctors are recommending procedures for him that are similar to what I have experienced. Would you also say a prayer for my nephew Sid whenever you may think to do so.

For the prosperity of the U.S. and the world
Last month, I heard the saint Sri Karunamayi say that we should pray for the prosperity of the U.S. I didn’t think too much about it, but now, with the debt ceiling negotiations going so poorly, I think we are in a very pivotal, dangerous time for the economy of the U.S. and thus for the world.

I have personally experienced the anxiety of awaiting the results of this kind of biopsy. My heart and prayers go out to you. We are so blessed to have the grace of God and Guru in facing life’s challenges, especially the more frightening ones such as this.
Do you have Ma and Babuji’s CDs “Healing Mantras” and “Mantras For Releasing Fear”? I am sure these would help you very much.
I will never forget something Anandi Ma said many years ago in response to a disciple’s question about fear: “Your fears are false”. She said it with such love, certainty, and serenity. I try to remember this when I am overwhelmed with fear.

All blessings, practical solutions and easefulness for all areas of your life, right now as Divinely appropriate! People I know have been really slammed for the last year or so, three years really. As a stunned, longterm experiencer of such turmoil, I really empathize and admire the simplicity and constraint with which you focus your request. I cannot even claim to have a sadhana and admire you yours. Hang on. Just because I don’t have a clue does not mean that this prayer request is not powerful for you. The Silent Unity Prayer line also has been very helpful for me; if you are at all comfortable with their energy, by all means avail yourself 24/7. There is comfort for me in knowing that a recently-diagnosed vaccine-type birth injury did not allow a smooth kundalini flow, but much the opposite; now I do not blame myself as much and have more of myself to give. May there be more miracles of common and uncommon sense in your life. I trust that you will give yourself every opportunity to explore more sources of support during this time to make the ride smoother: better and more sleep, more balanced nutrition, anything that supports you, just a lot more of it. And fun, maybe involving Nature. All of this will help your own helpful energy to be more available to those whom you choose in the right timing. Prayers Requested For Chandra Amand
Chandra Amand is going for surgery on Tuesday, March 22nd. Although there’s not a definitive start time for the operation, she’s been told that it will begin around 7:30 a.m. Eastern Time. Any prayers and practices that you can offer for her throughout the day for her protection and complete healing will be greatly appreciated.
TRAILOKYAS
For those of us who have received the Trailokya, Bapuji would like each of us to do 11 Trailokyas, ideally at the time of the surgery. Doing them earlier – before the start time of the surgery – is fine if you have to go to work. Basically, do the best that you can regarding both numbers and timing. If you have not already received news of the request for Trailokyas, please comment here to let us know if you will be able to offer any. We are trying to reach 108 combined offerings of the Trailokya. If you have not received the Trailokyas, any prayers are. of course, welcome.

Please pray for Troy Davis life to not be excecuted for a crime he did not commit, with 7 of the 9 witnesses recanting their testimonys and the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles to give him a pardon in next clemency meeting this coming Monday the 20th.
