Compassion

I took a spiritual class and one of the lessons was to give ourselves a gift from the heart. I didn’t know what to give myself since I have been blessed in many ways. I was walking from a parking lot and was met with a street person. He said he needed to get back to the shelter for a change of clothes. I looked at him and thought he looks fine to me, no change of clothes is needed but there is something special about this person. I handed him 20 dollars. His face started to glow, there was such graditude. We both went on our way. That Monday driving to work his face popped into my head. I started to smile. That was my gift to myself. It was the Gift of Compassion. That day we both gave each other a gift, it was..The Gift of Compassion.
